The goal of the Level 6 Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality degree is to develop learners’ management knowledge and abilities within the tourism and hospitality industries. It will provide students with the specialist knowledge and abilities required to plan and manage their work areas, make wise decisions, and effectively adapt to the needs of various tourist and hospitality organisations. Learners will assess current ideas and knowledge critically before using their findings to suggest solutions to challenging management issues. So, if you’re planning to pursue your career, familiarise yourself with its requirements and other details.
Entry requirements
The following skills are required for admittance into the OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management programme:
- Mature learners (over 21) with a background in management (learners must check with the delivery centre regarding this experience before registering for the programme)
- The learner must be 18 years old when the course begins.
- Language specifications: If a learner is not from a country where English is the primary language, they must show proof of their English language proficiency.
Assessment And Verification
The centre conducts internal assessments of each unit for this qualification, and OTHM does an external verification. The credentials are based on the accomplishment of all the predetermined learning outcomes and are criterion-referenced.
Learners must present proof that they have satisfied all learning outcomes and meet all assessment criteria requirements to receive a “pass” for a unit. The assessor decides whether or not the Learners successfully completed the assessment criteria.
The assessor should provide an audit trail to demonstrate the decision-making process used to determine the learners’ overall achievement.
CHANCES FOR LEARNERS TO PASS
Centres are in charge of handling students who have finished the assessment but did not receive a Pass for the qualification. However, OTHM believes that centres must, at the very least, have a clear feedback mechanism to effectively retrain learners in all the critical areas before re-evaluating them.

Delivery of OTHM Qualifications
Since OTHM does not specify the mode of delivery for its qualifications, OTHM Centres are allowed to use any mode of delivery that satisfies the needs of their Learners to offer this qualification. However, when structuring the delivery of programmes, OTHM Centres should take the Learners’ entire learning experience into account.
